Flowers are the perfect and rewarding photographic subject.
They are photogenic, interesting, full of color and variety, and can be found practically everywhere. What’s more, flowers don’t talk back, they don’t run away, and unless there’s a really strong wind, they cooperate when you’re taking pictures! In short, flowers are models who love to pose! 🌸
During this workshop, we will teach you how to use natural light and create good lighting conditions for photographing flowers indoor and outdoor, how to compose your shots, how to make the most of your current photography equipment when photographing flora, how to isolate your subjects, how to work with the background – whether using a natural background or creating your own – and much more!
Whether you are an enthusiast, beginner or an advanced photographer of flowers, we believe that we will show you many interesting and original ideas and inspire you to photograph flora differently. The workshop also includes many tips on various (traditional and non-traditional) photography techniques and many tricks that you can use to make your flora photos “stand out from the crowd”.
We will cover:
- All about the background – how to use it to your advantage, how to shoot on white, black and how to create your own background
- Use of colors and other elements of design
- Aperture and depth of field and its effect on the final shot – isolation of the subject vs. storytelling
- Creative photo tips techniques for flora photography (Shooting through, Camera movement, Water drops, Flat-lays, Still life, Rain and frost… and more!
- How to master your current gear and create your own DIY equipment
… and of course individual ideas and questions you might have
Learn through hands-on practice and soon you’ll be creating stunning flora photographs—not just snapshots, but truly memorable images. Enjoy a fun and inspiring experience while learning alongside a group of fellow photography enthusiasts. 📸
Requirements:
- digital DSLR or mirrorless camera
or advanced digital camera (ask us if you have any questions) - memory card
- fully charged battery
- enthusiasm and smile 🙂
- optional: knowledge of the photography basics is an advantage but not a requirement

Place: Vevey (Entre-Deux-Villes) – TheWorkHub premises – great open space for indoor shooting + our place is next to lake with plenty of objects for outdoor photography!
